Outer Cape Community Acupuncture
Reimagining the art of health care
About Us
OCCA provides community acupuncture.
This means that you will receive
your treatment in a large,
quiet, comfortable room, sitting
in a recliner. You do not need
to disrobe, you just need to
roll your sleeves up to your
elbows and your pants up to
your knees. You and your acupuncturist
will speak briefly in whispers
before you get treated. You
can stay as long as you want,
and (last but not least) there
will be other people getting
treated at the same time, in
the same room, in the same
way.
We love community acupuncture because it
makes it easy for people to get treatments
whenever they want, to be treated with their
families and friends, to feel comfortable
rather than isolated, and to create together
a collective energetic field which makes
the individual treatments more powerful and
clinically effective.
Shoba has a Master's Degree in Traditional
Chinese Medicine from the Santa Barbara College
of Oriental Medicine, National Certification
in Acupuncture (NCCAOM) and eight years of
successful private practice. She continues
to study with Jeffrey Yuen and Richard Tan,
both highly regarded teachers of Chinese
medicine. She, and her
partner
Hania Cennerazzo, are happy to bring Community
Acupuncture to the outer cape.
Jennifer DiMeo
OCCA was founded by Shoba Satya, Lic. Ac., who now practices in Washington state at Nurturing Health Acupuncture. Before she left, Shoba carefully placed OCCA into the hands of Jennifer M. DiMeo, D.C., Lic. Ac., who has a master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York and National Certification in Acupuncture (NCCAOM). While in school, Jennifer completed her externship at Saint Vincent's Hospital Outpatient HIV center. In 2002, Jennifer received her doctorate of chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College, and had a private practice in New York City for seven years. Jennifer is also a trained CranioSacral therapist. In 2009, Jennifer moved to Provincetown with her partner, and is honored that Shoba selected her to continue bringing quality, affordable acupuncture to the Outer Cape.
